New breed

Dec and Gav have been inspired and created blogs. Nice one!

I have just given this one a bit of a spring clean - that beach pic was taken in the Whitsundays last year.

Finally recovered from the heavy weekend (see below), and am looking forward to the next.

This is a great plugin for firefox. Been using it loads.

Big Bums

Seem to be alot of them about Sydney at the moment. Here's one i spotted yesterday afternoon in Darling Harbour. The woman who owned it was an American tourist who had just waddled off a coach in search of something or other.

Viking baptism

Went to the baptism of Tim and Kristins baby, Sebastian, last night in a Norweigan church in Manly. My first one, and a very chilled experience it was too. Thanks Tim and Kristin (those waffles were well nice!)

Have you got a yahoo account? I have and i was about one click away from upgrading my free account to their subscriber version at the cost of $20 / yr. The primary motivation is for POP3 access of my yahoo email (which gmail offers for free) - not the 2gb storage space. Turns out there is a very handy little application called Ypops! which provides POP3 access to your yahoo mail for free! Been using it for a couple of days now with no probs (although i had to disable email scanning from my anti-virus app).

A new year a new start

Went to the Opera Bar to see the Sydney fireworks this year. Great night and the fireworks were spectacular as always. Got back home at about 7 in the morning, then combined with the stiffling 44.2 degrees centigrade heat, everything was a bit of a struggle to say the least.. Feel alot better now, and am contemplating what resolutions i should make for the coming 12 months.

Beach Christmas

Spent a very chilled week down in Jervis Bay for xmas this year. Lots of sun and barbies and warm beer; great to get away from the city and spend 6 days just going brown. Click on pic for more..

Mobs of Kangaroos

We went camping to Pebbly Beach this weekend, which is located in the Murramarang National Park about 4 hrs south of Sydney. Amazing beaches, rock platforms, gum forests, rainforest gullies and loads of kangaroos just lounging about in the hot hot sun. Thunder storms too, the first night there was an almighty one - lightning every 5 seconds and thunder which literally made the ground shake. Lying in a tiny tent, it was a quite an experience!

Click on the pic below to check out the weekend!

Not much other news though - managed to facture my arm last thursday; i was cycling down oxford st. and someone opened their car door without looking. I hit the doot at full pelt and ended up in the middle of the road with a VERY sore elbow! Broke the sunglasses i'd brought earlier that day too :-(
Have officially finished with Avanade, i am now on holiday until January 9th when I start contracting with Colonial First State. Not an easy decision, but the IT market is very good in Sydney at moment, and it is the ideal time to go contracting.
Going on holiday to Jervis bay for Xmas with a load of friends, then the Opera bar for New Years eve. Should have a great view from there.
